Alumni’s biography :: Ankita Singh

Name: Ankita Singh

Batch: 2000
School roll:
House: Shivalik
Current address: BIT, Mesra, Ranchi
Phone:
Current status: Student (BE) in chemical and polymer engineering

Life after JNV (what I am doing right now): At the moment, I am studying about the machineries used in chemical industries such as the quality control, reaction mechanism and kinetics of various types of chemical reaction. For the poloymer part I am studying about different types of polymers, their properties, synthesis and their engineering applications. In my college we are given more chance to think about a real time problem rather than to mug up equations and theories from text-books. So, it feels great when you think about anything deeply and there you find something.

Most memorable memories of JNV for me:
  • The routine desciplined life, the hostel life with friends and also interactions with teachers.
Things I miss the most about JNV:
  • Almost everything, right from the morning PT to the evening study hours. It has infinite memories which will always be in my mind and my heart.
Things I won't miss about JNV (at least no so much):
  •  Nothing really... :)
One thing I would change about our school, if given a chance:
  • I would like to create an atmosphere inside the campus where students know the outside world and can complete with them. Such as giving more emphasis on the national level talent search exams, etc.
Near future goals I am working on and how: In near future, I want to get very good scores in the GRE exams and get admitted to a good university for my masters. I am working hard for it and doing many projects in my college just to develope a keen interest in research and to understand the basic of science from its depth.

Lines from me to my lovely juniors (still in JNV): I would advice everyone to follow up wit the current affairs and participate more and more in the national or state level competitions or talent search exams. Don't just read anything to score marks and don't mug up things. Ask doubts from your teachers, if not satisfied then search on the net or ask your seniors. Read everything to understand, to expand your knowledge.
Also, have some practical knowledge of the science experiments. Make working models as your project and take more and more interest in the practical applications of science. This will surely increase your interest in the subject and will also help you undestand the basics of science. All the best and if you need any help, I will be just and email away...feel free to ask your doubts... :)
